Q- Tell us about yourself
A- My name is Eilish Rafferty. I'm an actress from Naas, County Kildare, and I am performing the part of Woman in Laughing Wild by Christopher Durang, which will be at the Birr Theatre and Arts Centre on 22nd February.
Q- What will you play in Birr?
A- I'm playing the part of Woman.
Q- Who is your biggest influence?
A- Wow. That's a big question. For stage, I think my biggest influence is people. Just other people, watching. I love watching people, watching their reactions in real life. Because that's what I've got to do. You know, I've got to translate that on stage as a character.
Q- Describe yourself as a 10-year-old.
A- Ten year old me. She's very good, she's a good girl. The eldest daughter. Two younger sisters to look after. Bit of a dreamer. Spent a lot of time in my interior world.
Q- What’s your best on stage memory?
A- Oh, I really enjoy being on stage when I don't have any lines to say. It's the best feeling because you can be just 100% fully there and you're listening and watching, reacting. I love those moments.
Q- What’s your worst on stage memory?
A- Worst onstage memory. I don't really have any bad memories, I think. Yeah, I've forgotten lines. I've dried, but, you know, I've learned to just breathe through it and relax and I find my way.
Q- Where are you at your happiest?
A- Drinking coffee with friends, or wine.
Q- What’s your favourite colour?
A- Oh, green..
Q- What’s the last book you enjoyed?
A- I'm reading The Bee Sting at the moment. It's really good.
Q- What's the last Play or Film that you enjoyed?
A- The last film I saw was A Complete Unknown. It was excellent.
Q- What’s your favourite song of all time?
A- Oh, that's too hard. In terms of getting out onto the dancefloor, Groove Is In The Heart by Dee-Lite. Works every time.
Eilish Rafferty will be on our stage in the Hilarious Comedy "Laughing Wild" Saturday, 22 February from 8pm.
