In 2022 we ask our visiting artists to tell us a little bit about themselves. We hope that these short questionnaires will reveal something that you didn't know or expect about them.
Today's volunteer for our quickfire questionnaire is one half of the Hubcap Theatre Company. the eternal teaanger of comedy, Sean kelleher.
Q- Tell us about yourself
A- Been going through a mid-life crisis for the last 20 years. Still don’t know what I’m going to be when I grow up
Q- What will you play on stage in Birr
A-In ‘The Parish’ we both play multiple roles. I play the funnier characters in the play. Michael is my sidekick. He’s a passenger really. But don’t tell him I said that.
Q- Who is your biggest influence (in life / on stage)?
A- My best buddy Michael! You can tell him I said that!
Q- Describe yourself as a 10-year-old.
A- I was beautiful then. I was small and fought like a Jack Russell.
Q- What’s your best onstage memory?
A- Winning Best Actor in the All Ireland Drama Festival 2016. Michael never won it. You can tell him that.
Q- What’s your worst on stage memory?
A- A five minute dry during a performance of The Odd Couple. Six of us on stage and we all thought it was someone else's line. Turns out it was mine…
Q- Where are you at your happiest?
A- On stage in full flight!
Q- What’s your favourite colour?
A- Blue
Q- What’s the last book you enjoyed?
A- The Mayor of Casterbridge. I had to read it for my Inter Cert. Not a great book reader. No wonder after having to read that one.
Q- What’s your favourite song of all time?
A- Thunderstruck. At full volume in the car. Used to be better when I had hair
Sean (and Michael) will be on stage in their play "The Parish" at Birr Theatre & Arts Centre on Saturday March 12th - 8pm.
